Design Services
The Partners of Simpson and Crawford Consulting aim to provide a high quality of service to all their Clients and potential Clients, which is both professional and personal. The main service that we offer is the deign of building services for all projects, whether new build or a refurbishment, we can provide a fully coordinated mechanical and electrical building services design service to meet the requirements of a Clients building, while considering all possible design options, which would be most appropriate for the particular location, development and budget.
Feasibility Studies
In additional to the design service we can carry out feasibility studies, which will look at specific Client requirements within any given area of the Building Services Engineering. In the past we have conducted many engineering feasibility studies, which not only look at the feasibility of certain engineering principals but also their associated costs to ensure that our Clients obtain all necessary information to assist them in the decision.
Technical Report
Over the last twenty years the Partners have gain a wealth of experience in all areas of Building Services Engineering and have been commissioned to carry out many technical reports for various Clients. Again many of these reports not only looked at the engineering principals but provided recommendations and associated costs to ensure that our Clients obtain all necessary information to assist them in their decision.
Surveying
As part of Building Services Engineering we may from time to time be required to survey the existing mechanical and electrical installations installed within Clients buildings. To date many such surveys have been carried out for our Clients, which have assisted with the design of new mechanical and electrical services, or the provision of feasibility studies and technical reports.
Site Supervision
To ensure that a high quality of service is maintained to all Clients and potential Clients, Simpson and Crawford Consulting can carry out routine site inspections, attend site progress meetings and arrange technical meetings with the various building services Contractors and Specialist Contractors to ensure that all building services are installed in a correct manner, to meet the various design parameters and building control regulations.
Environment and Low Carbon
In addition to the above services Simpson and Crawford Consulting can furthermore provide details associated with the provision of renewable and sustainable energies, together with low carbon initiatives. For some time now we have been involved with various projects, which have installed or considered the various renewable and sustainable energies, in order to provide our Clients with a lower carbon footprint for their buildings.
Some of the renewable and sustainable energies that we have design or considered for projects are as follows: -
• Solar thermal hot water panels.
• Photovoltaic solar panels.
• Heat recovery ventilation.
• Induction ventilation.
• Wind turbines.
• Geothermal heat pumps.
• Air to water heat pumps.
With the introduction of the new Building Regulations and the worldwide awareness to reduce the carbon impact of new and existing building stock Simpson and Crawford Consulting can provide our Clients with Simplified Building Energy Modelling (SBEM) calculations as stated earlier to show their environmental impact.
